PRESS RELEASE
EHE Health Named One of Fortune Magazine’s Best Workplaces in New York
New York, Aug. 13, 2021 – EHE Health, a national preventive health and primary care network that partners with leading employers to advance employee health and engagement, today announced that it has been named by Fortune Magazine and Great Place to Work® as one of the Best Workplaces in New York™ 2021. EHE Health ranks among the state’s 60 best small/medium places to work, with 87% of its employees saying the company is a great place to work, compared to just 59% of workers at the average U.S.-based company.[1]
“As a company dedicated to helping other leading employers improve the health and wellbeing of their workforce, this recognition of our culture is a reflection of our mission and values in action,” said Dr. David Levy, MD, CEO of EHE Health. “EHE Health is an amazing, diverse team of people, driven by a common purpose and passion for patient-centered care that is inseparable from our commitment to a work environment in which every member feels valued and respected.” Tweet this.
Great Place to Work, a global authority on workplace culture, identified the very best places to work through careful analysis of confidential employee responses to survey questions. Great Place to Work is the only company culture award in America that selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated and how well they are creating a great employee experience. EHE Health was included in the survey based on its designation as a Great Place to Work®-certified company in April 2021.
Large numbers of EHE Health employees queried by Great Place to Work speak positively about the company’s working environment. Nine in 10 (90%) employees said, “People care about each other here” and 91% said “I am proud to tell others I work here.”
“We firmly believe that the best places to work not only value diversity, but wholly embrace inclusivity as part of the culture and core mission of the organization,” said Joy Altimare, EHE Health Chief Engagement and Brand Officer. “When employees feel they are respected, their needs and goals are appreciated, and they are free to be their authentic selves on the job, it translates into greater personal and professional growth that benefits our employees, patients and communities.”
Altimare, who advocates for EHE Health’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts, noted that the company has worked to further reinforce its stance on DEI. This included adding to the company’s corporate mission statement a formal commitment to eliminate racial disparities in access to high-quality health care by setting an example with employees and clients.
EHE Health is in a unique position to address these issues given its behavior-centric approach to improving health and helping people better navigate their personal and family health journeys. COVID-19, which proved to be more dangerous and deadly for people with underlying health risks, further exposed racial disparities in health care access and outcomes in the United States. Over the past year, the company conducted extensive training, employee focus groups and hosted virtual, open discussions on diversity topics, including unconscious bias in healthcare and society. Among the many ways the company supported employees through the pandemic, it formed a virtual book club, inviting colleagues to share their diverse perspectives on books and literature, helping each other understand the personal lens through which they perceive their lives.
About Fortune Best Workplaces in New York™ 2021
To determine the 2021 Best Workplaces in New York, Great Place to Work® analyzed confidential survey feedback from more than 78,000 employees in the New York State or the tri-state/New York Metro Statistical Area.
Employees responded to over 60 survey questions describing the extent to which their organization creates a Great Place to Work For All™. Eighty-five percent of the evaluation is based on what employees say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or what they do. Great Place to Work analyzes these experiences relative to each organization’s size, workforce make up, and what’s typical in their industry and in the New York State or the tri-state/New York Metro Statistical Area.
The remaining 15 percent of the rank is based on an assessment of all employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values, and the effectiveness of their leaders, to ensure they’re consistently experienced.
