World Malaria Day
In 2021, there were an estimated 247 million cases of malaria worldwide. It killed more than 619,000 people around the world in the same year. That is about 1,700 people every day. In Africa, 80% of these deaths were in children under 5 years.
On Saturday, 22nd April 2023, the Eagles-Haven team set out on a mission to #RollBackMalaria in the interior town of Ketti located in Abuja Municipal Area Council. The outreach took place at Ketti Primary Health Centre, Kabusa.
This outreach featured
#Malaria prevention sensitization
Blood pressure monitoring?
Malaria tests?
Malaria treatment ?
Distribution of mosquito nets?
The turnout was beyond our expectations. We reached over 500 persons (adults and children). Due to the limited supply of mosquito nets (150pcs), we limited the distribution to pregnant women and women with children only. The team did an amazing job, and we'll keep doing lots more in years to come.
April 25 is #WorldMalariaDay. Let's join voices and forces to innovate and implement strategies for #malariaprevention.
